In this workshop, we’ll use Soloro as a living example to explore what it takes to make a small, diversified farm viable. We’ll walk through how growing a wide variety of crops can support soil health, extend the harvest season, and create multiple income opportunities.
We’ll also look at the other side of the equation—diversifying where and how food is sold. From CSA programs and direct-to-community sales to workshops and on-farm experiences, we’ll share how Soloro approaches building multiple market streams to support the farm.
Together, we’ll explore the balance between ecological farming and financial sustainability, and how thoughtful design—both in the field and in the marketplace—can make a micro farm not just productive, but resilient and community-connected.
Whether you’re dreaming up your own farm or refining an existing one, this workshop offers a transparent, real-world look at what’s working, what’s evolving, and what’s possible.
